Job Description: 

Plan, direct, and control activities related to quality planning and related functions in accordance with policies and programs set forth by management and required by the customer. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Program Manager with successful execution of new jobs from prototype phase, through pre-production phase and into production. 

  • Assist with tracking and submitting Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new tooling, transfer tooling, engineer changes, and annual validation. 

  • Assist with maintaining IMDS submissions accurately and on time. 

  • Coordinate efforts between customers, sub-suppliers, and lab suppliers to insure accurate dimensional results, on-time PPAP submissions, etc. 

  • Meet customer requirements by statistical analysis of the product/process to remove variation. 

  • Lead in development of quality control plans and FMEA’s. 

  • Support and maintain requirements for ISO 9001 certification. 

  • Communicate, identify and address customer concerns related to product quality internally and support in the field. 

  • Review customer drawings and requirements to identify dimensional concerns, estimate layout & inspection costs, timing, gauging and feasibility as they pertain to the APQP process. 

  • Work to ensure systems standardization of the APQP & PPAP processes. 

  • Drive continuous improvement. 

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

  • College degree in related field and/or minimum of 3 years equivalent experience. 

  • Working knowledge of injection molding process, dimensional inspection, GD&T, SPC, and basic computer skills. 

  • Automotive background in the areas of project management would be ideal. 

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish would be ideal.
